SOME KEY ACTIVITIES IN THE RAILWAY SECTOR:
Strategic partner to Rolling Stock Manufacturers and Operators (e.g. AnsaldoBreda/Hitachi Rail Italy, LucchiniRS, Trenitalia – Italian National Railway Operator, FSI Group) for reducing energy consumption and environmental impact of trains; modelling brakes performances of vehicles with different subsystems; development of innovative models of contact wheel-railway, wheel wear estimation and optimization for the different typologies of vehicles; noise reduction of vehicles with specific focus on wheels; dynamic modelling and simulation of comfort and safety level; realization of a new prototype of innovative high speed pantograph;
validation of homologations standard for railway vehicles.
Strategic partner to Operators and Signalling Industry (e.g. UIC, Trenitalia, ECM, AnsaldoSTS) for developing odometry algorithms used in the most developed on board signalling systems (SCMT, ETCS, ERTMS); innovative signalling systems.
